Best Go-Karting Places in Cape Town

How fast can you go in a go-kart? Have you and the kids ever tried racing in a go-kart before? It’s massive fun and a great way to get some family competition going! Most go-karting venues require children to be at least 5 years old (sometimes even older). Go-karts for younger children will have more restrictions such as speed, power, and size. So depending on the venue, you can take your entire family to a fun racing day and a real Formula 1 experience. Find the best go-karting venues near you in our list below:

1. Century Karting in Century City (Canal Walk)

This go-karting venue is conveniently located in Century City on the Mezzanine Level, Canal Walk Parking (between Honda & Golf Shop). So it’s only a short drive from town and open 7 days a week. The minimum height requirement to hop into the go-kart is 160cm. They also have a kiosk where you can buy snacks, drinks and coffee during your stay. For groups of 12 or more drivers, they offer special racing packages. Check out their website for more information and group prices.

Operating Hours: Mon – Sun 09:00 – 21:00
Rates: Beginner (6min) = R190 p/p, Intermediate (11min) = R270 p/p, Expert (15min) = R350 p/p, Simulator (10min / 20min) = R50 / R100 p/p

2. Extreme Outdoor Karting in Stellenbosch

This outdoor venue is surely inviting the whole family for a fun day in a go-kart. It has a Main Track and a dedicated kiddies track for ages 7+. The venue also features braai facilities and jumping castles for the little breaks in between the races, so you can easily spend a couple of hours here. They only allow 4 Go-Karts on the Main Track at a time and 2 Kiddies Karts in order to ensure the safety of all drivers. Bookings are recommended but walk-ins are also welcome. They charge individual prices, but have special group racing packages as well. Check out the website for detailed pricing information.

Every Tuesday they offer sessions for the next generation of SA Kart Champions where children from the age of 5 years can learn to race a Go-Kart. To arrange an intro drive for your child, simply drop them an email. They will supply all the safety gear and the kart, obviously. Allow 1.5 hours in total to complete 2 x 10min sessions.

4. Karts 4 Kidz

If you’re planning a rather unique and unusual kiddies party, how about renting an entire go-kart racing course for the mini party guests? The inflatable race course is completely mobile and can be set up Indoors and Outdoors within a few minutes. The karts’ speed can be pre-set anywhere between 1.5 km/ph and 10 km/ph to suit children of all ages and abilities. It’s most fun for children between 3 and 11 years old. A Karts 4 Kidz event is normally run with 4 x 24v Cub Karts, in an inflatable track of 15m x 11m that acts as a safety barrier for a set amount of time. Rides are supervised by their team throughout the function duration. So if you’ve got plenty of space, why not hire your private go-karting track? It will surely be remembered by all party guests!

Operating Hours: Mon – Sun 07:00 – 21:00
Rates: Prices vary from event to event and the distance travelled.
