Prepare yourself for a proper Afrikaans place when you visit this little gem not far from Cape Town. It is absolutely beautiful and hard to put in a certain category. It’s a play park for the kids, with animals to feed, jumping castles to explore and ponies to ride. It is also a great place to have some rustic meals, listen to Afrikaans music and enjoy the company of true locals. It has a market style atmosphere with plenty of seating space inside and outside and there is even a little train going around in circles taking on happy tiny customers.
The playground outside is filled with inflatable jumping castles, a trampoline, a play area with swings and a jungle gym, scooters and lots of curious animals in between the action. While the adults can sit down under the huge tent or on the lawn and order a dish, the kids can explore the various farm animals. They will meet cows, goats, chickens, lazy pigs, alpacas, goats, bunnies and a white pony. Feeding buckets and/or milk bottles can be bought for R30 each and it’s even more fun to feed the hungry crowd. Just watch out for the naughty Alpaca who likes to spit if you’re getting too close.
At certain times, the kids can even go on a little horseback ride for R35.
Train rides are also available for R35 and the kids will absolutely love it.
You can take a look at all the kids’ activities here: KIDS ACTIVITIES
The menu is written in Afrikaans. So we had a bit of a difficult time figuring out what we can actually eat. But the friendly waiters helped us out immediately and explained to us the different dishes. So we found a little something for all of us and were very impressed with the quality of the food! It tasted absolutely amazing and we will come back for a second serve. You can take a look at the full menu here: MENU
Inside the farm house, you will also find a little shop with local goods as well as some artisan jewellery and handmade goodies. It’s a very cute place to take home some small gifts.
Kiddies Birthday Parties
They do have a flyer where you can find out more about birthday party bookings. Unfortunately, I cannot give you more information on that as I’m not able to read Afrikaans. The flyer can be found on the website and in the pictures in our gallery. From what I see they offer 3 different party package options starting from R200 per child.
Our Experience
We had a surprisingly good time and the kids were running around, feeding the animals, riding the little scooters, and spending their pocket money on yummy treats and train rides. The food was really delicious and way more affordable than in any restaurant in town and it was a great day out with the family. The waiters and owner of the place are super friendly and we can highly recommend it! It was a great atmosphere and we felt very welcome although we couldn’t read the menu ourselves 🙂

Dear Tessa, kindly note that we are not associated with the venues on our website. You will have to contact them directly to make a booking and discuss details. All contact details for the venues are provided at the bottom of the article.
Just a note, if you have a family of four (we have a 2 and 3 year old), activities can quickly add up to almost R600 excluding food and drink.
From the pics on Facebook, it appears that they allow close up animal interaction- petting and cuddling of animals. If you are against animal petting then avoid this place.
overall, helpful review.
