Camps Bay Beach Playground / Camps Bay

If you happen to be in Camps Bay on a beach stroll and the kids are getting bored, take them to the little tidal pool at the end of Main Road where you will find a sweet playground with a giant jungle gym. They can swing, climb and slide or do a couple of rounds on the see-saw. You have great views of the ocean, Lion’s Head and the back of Table Mountain.

The parents can sit down at the bench and watch over the ocean to enjoy the most beautiful sunsets over Camps Bay. Our kids also love to take little walks along the tidal pool. They especially enjoy the high waves and the splashing fun when they hit the rocks! Just be careful! It might be slippery out there and you don’t want to loose the little ones in the water!

There are also public toilets not far away from the playground which are clean and even feature baby changing facilities.

Our Experience

Whenever we’re in Camps Bay, the kids follow a routine: we grab some ice cream at Gelato Mania, eat it at the beach, then move on to the playground and walk around the tidal pool (if the weather permits). The playground is right next to the tidal pool and you can sit down on the bench and enjoy a beautiful sunset in the evening while the kids are playing. There are also public toilets very close to the playground (with changing facilities) and the park is right at the beachfront. They love to swing and climb before we head back towards home. Definitely worth a short stop-over. Just mind the dog poo in the grass. There are quite a few land mines and you should keep an eye on your feet.
