Currently, the Wine Tractor covers 8 selected wine farms where you can either stay for an hour before you move on or you enjoy the moment even longer and simply hop on the next Wine Tractor whenever it suits you. When taking along the kids, you want to make sure that they also have an enjoyable experience while you sip and taste the different wines and soak in the stunning views and estates. So we have put together a list of kid-friendly wine estates on the Wine Tractor Route where you will find a playground for the youngsters or other fun kiddies activities.
Family-Friendly Wine Farms on the Wine Tractor Route
Eikendal Vineyards
Eikendal Vineyards is nestled in the so-called “Golden Triangle” of wine growing and is home to a lovely restaurant and wine tasting cellar. The outside seating area of the restaurant (Giovanni’s at Eikendal) is overlooking the mountains, there is a little pond with a water fountain and lots of green grassy areas to relax and unwind.
The restaurant also features a playground right next to the shaded outside seating and you can conveniently watch the children play. There are swings, a slide, monkey bars and a sand pit for the kids’ entertainment.
Longridge Wine Estate
Longridge Wine Estate is not only known for its exquisite wines but also for being a family-friendly haven in Cape Town and its surroundings. This charming estate offers a unique blend of stunning vineyard landscapes, extraordinary wines, and a range of activities that make it the perfect destination for families looking to unwind and enjoy quality time together.
From the Estate, you get breathtaking views of the Helderberg Mountains and False Bay, making it a visual treat for visitors of all ages. The playground with a jungle gym adds some extra fun for young visitors.
Peter Falke Wines
Visiting Peter Falke Wine Estate is a memorable experience for the entire family. The estate offers lush gardens, vineyard views, and a chic tasting room where visitors can sample their exceptional wines.
You can also choose from a lovely menu as well as a kiddies menu with some really nice ice cream with chocolate sauce and smarties.
While you can sip on your wines, the kids are free to run around or burn off some energy on the playground. They will find a fun jungle gym, swings, a slide and a fun giant chair to jump off and climb.
