DSK Bazaar: A Two-Day, Family-Friendly Festival with a Touch of Oktoberfest in Tamboerskloof

Once a year, the DSK Bazaar transforms the German International School Cape Town (DSK) in Tamboerskloof into a festive summer hub of authentic German food, beer, live music, market stalls and fun activities for all ages.
This year, the family-friendly festival runs from Friday, 31 October (15:00–23:00) to Saturday, 1 November (10:00–23:00).

Festive Music Line-Up & German Food Favourites

On Friday, guests can kick off the weekend with live music from the lively “Oompah” band Songscape in the afternoon, followed by Freshlyground’s guitarist with a new lead singer, and finally the headline act – Oktoberfest favourites Bayernmän from Germany.

On Saturday, a line-up of South African and German bands will take the stage, with Bayernmän headlining once again to deliver authentic Oktoberfest energy and a festive atmosphere in the evening.

All this while enjoying German specialities like Bratwurst, crispy Schweinshaxe (pork knuckle), Kassler or Leberkäse (meatloaf) straight off the grill, as well as gourmet sandwiches, pizza, wraps, chicken curry, and much, much more.

Of course, sweet treats await you at the Mozart Café and Bahnhofsbistro – the perfect spots to indulge in cakes, pastries and coffee delights.

You’ll also find a variety of vegetarian and Halaal options, along with our authentic Obatzda, the famous Bavarian cheese spread, and the popular Swiss Raclette stall – something delicious for everyone!

Fun for Kids & the whole Family
Alongside the music, families can look forward to rides, youth activities, and unique market stalls – making the DSK Bazaar the perfect day out for all ages.

At the Kids Fun Park, children can enjoy unlimited activities with the Kids & Youth Activity Pass: from a sweeper obstacle and rocket launcher to a carousel, parcours park, bubble soccer, football games, bow-and-arrow challenges, arts & crafts, and face painting to name a few.

For teens and older kids, the Youth Park offers extra fun: a pool party with DJs at the school’s outdoor swimming pool (don’t forget your swim gear).

Best of all: your Adult Entry Ticket and Kids Activity Pass are valid for both days – pay once and enjoy the Bazaar festivities on Friday and Saturday!
Rides are open Friday: 15:00 – 18:00 (Sports Field only) and Saturday: 10:00 – 18:00 (all rides and attractions open).
