Every year in September, South African National Parks (SANParks) hosts National Parks Week, giving South Africans the opportunity to explore their natural heritage without paying entrance fees. This initiative encourages locals to connect with nature and foster a sense of pride and ownership.

Here’s the breakdown of parks in the Cape Region and dates for SA National Parks Week 2025:

Cape Region

• Agulhas National Park: 22 – 28 September 2025
• Bontebok National Park: 22 – 28 September 2025
• Table Mountain National Park: 22 – 28 September 2025

  • Excludes the Boulders Penguin Colony section and the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway

• Tankwa Karoo National Park: 22 – 28 September 2025
• West Coast National Park: 22 – 26 September 2025

  • Ends before the weekend due to peak Flower Season
