Mark it in the calendar, tell the grandparents, and friends — SA National Parks Week is coming, and this year it’s the 21st time SANParks has thrown the gates open for free.

From Monday 7 to Sunday 13 September 2026, South African day visitors get free access to participating national parks around the country. Entry is 100% FREE. However, accommodation, guided walks, game drives and other paid activities still cost the same as always.

To get in free, South African visitors need to bring ID. Kids under 18 are let off the hook — no documentation required.
