Iziko Winter School Holiday Programme

Looking for an educational and inspiring activity for curious young minds this winter? The Iziko Museums of South Africa are hosting an exciting Winter School Holiday Programme in celebration of Mandela Month, offering children aged 7–15 years a unique opportunity to explore science, history, art, and culture through interactive edutainment experiences.

Children can attend individual workshops or join the full programme, with each session taking place from 11:00am to 1:00pm.

🌌 Monday, 13 July 2026

Iziko Planetarium and Digital Dome
Step into a fully immersive, multisensory planetarium experience, followed by a creative workshop where participants will craft their own Solar System.

🎨 Tuesday, 14 July 2026

Iziko Groot Constantia
Enjoy a morning immersed in the beauty and history of Groot Constantia. Participants will take part in reflection and drawing activities inspired by the estate’s breathtaking surroundings.

Iziko South African Museum
Travel back in time and explore the ancient oceans from the age of the dinosaurs through interactive exhibits and educational activities.

🏛️ Thursday, 16 July 2026

Iziko South African National Gallery
Create community flags inspired by artworks featured in the exhibition In Slavery’s Wake: Making Black Freedom in the World.
