If you’re looking for a cute animal encounter and feeding experience, you must stop at Fynbos Guest Farm & Animal Sanctuary in Wolseley. It’s a working farm, a peaceful retreat, and a haven for rescued animals all at once – the kind of spot where you can reconnect with nature and feel good knowing your visit supports something meaningful.
The farm has become a safe home for over 150 animals, including mammals, birds, reptiles, and even invertebrates. Many of them were abused, neglected, or injured before arriving here, and they now live out their days in peace. This sanctuary work has earned Fynbos recognition too – including the Cape Winelands Award for Sustainable and Responsible Tourism.

Meet the Animals & Relax At The Cafe
The sanctuary isn’t a petting zoo or a quick tourist attraction – it’s a forever home for animals that have nowhere else to go. You’ll meet alpacas, llamas, donkeys, horses, ostriches, springbok, zebras, owls, tortoises, pigs and many more creatures, each with their own story. Some were rescued from neglect, others from the hunting industry, and a few were surrendered by owners who could no longer care for them. Take a look at the different animals that you can visit at the sanctuary: ANIMALS
Visitors are welcome to walk among the enclosures, observe the animals up close, and even help with feeding – all under guidance to ensure the animals remain calm and comfortable. It’s a special experience for children too, offering a rare chance to connect with animals in a safe and respectful way while learning about compassion and conservation. Included in your entrance tickets are feeding buckets with apples, carrots and bread for the animals. The entrance fee is R60 for adults and R30 for children. So you can roam around and feed some delicious treats to the animal residents. There are walking paths through the property, a peaceful meditation room, and even a labyrinth for quiet reflection.
Whenever you feel hungry, you can sit down at the Fynbos Cafe & Farmstall to enjoy an all-day breakfast, lunch, coffee, cakes and more. You can take a look at their full menu here: MENU

Stay Among the Fynbos
Fynbos Guest Farm offers several ways to stay, depending on the kind of getaway you’re after.
If comfort and cosiness are your priorities, there are three self-catering cottages, each with its own character and charm. They come with fully equipped kitchens, fireplaces for chilly evenings, outdoor braai areas, and all the little touches that make you feel at home. The cottages are serviced daily, and you can even arrange for a breakfast delivery or pre-order dinner if you don’t feel like cooking.
For those who prefer being closer to nature, the farm also has a small, peaceful camping area with about ten sites. Each site has power points, braai facilities, and plenty of shade, and there are clean shared bathrooms nearby. The camping area is beautifully quiet – perfect for listening to birdsong, watching the stars, and waking up to the sound of farm life around you.
One of the things guests love most about Fynbos is the atmosphere. There’s a strict no-noise policy, so don’t expect loud music or parties. Instead, you’ll find calm, stillness, and time to breathe. Dogs are welcome by arrangement, and because the property is home to free-roaming animals, a slow speed limit is enforced for everyone’s safety.
