Hasher Family Wines is tucked into the Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley (a stunning bit of wine country near Hermanus) and offers a beautiful blend of family, nature, and wine passion. The Hasher story is pretty romantic. The owners, Frederik and Céline, left Belgium together with their children to build something new in South Africa. In 2021, they acquired vineyards and started the estate, making the bold leap to live a dream rooted in soil, climate, and community. Together with their amazing winemaker Natasha Williams, they create outstanding wines that hit a major milestone in 2025: Hasher Family Wines won “Winery of the Year” at the London Wine Competition. You must taste their wines for yourself, but one is better than the other and this achievement is well-deserved.

Visiting & Experiences
Hasher is built to be lived in, not just looked at. Their tasting room is warm, welcoming, with big windows framing vineyard, mountain, and sea views. You can take a look at all their experiences here: TASTING EXPERIENCE
Here’s what you can expect:
- Classic Wine Tasting — a sampler of their range, with stories from the vineyard and cellar. R200 per person.
- Picnic & Wine Experience — pick a bottle, grab their cheese & charcuterie board, pick a spot on the grounds (they’ll bring blankets & props). The Picnic Platter is R350 (2 person sharing).
- Curated Tastings — for groups of 4-12: deeper dives, special vintages, indoor or outdoor options, even helicopter pickups sometimes. Pricing starts at R650 per person.
- Wine bar snacks / small bites — roasted pecans, olives, local bread, small seasonal treats.
- Family Friendly — there’s a play area for kids, child-friendly drinks, and an environment that’s meant to be enjoyed by people of all ages.

Events & “Feasts” — Wine + Family + Food
Hasher runs quarterly Family & Fine Wine Feasts — these are a mix of good food, great wine, and family moments.
They usually offer four highlights per year:
- Spring Awakening — a celebration of plants, new growth, flavours of spring.
- Summer / Christmas celebration — mixing holiday cheer with sunshine.
- Autumn Harvest Celebration — includes cellar tasting, vineyard foraging, harvest table lunch.
- Winter Cellar Soirée — cozy, indoor, fireside feasting.
These events are limited in capacity — you need to reserve early. You can keep an eye on their event section to find out when the next Feast will be planned. EVENTS AT HASHER

Our Experience
Our family has attended their Spring Feast and it was an absolutely delightful event – for kids and adults alike. While the grown-ups get to know each other over a good glass of wine and delicious tasters on the lawn, the kids get their own entertainment programme. Kids 5 years and older get a guided farm tour where they meet and greet some cute animals, they pick their own flowers, and make bath salt to take home.
The family then reunites at the long harvest table perfectly arranged in the wine cellar where you get to enjoy a delicious 3-course meal with music, chatter, laughter and only happy vibes. It was a very unique experience – we learned a lot about the Hasher family, their very own way of wine making, we got to taste a wide range of their wines and met many interesting people. It was surely a day to remember and to be repeated!
