Kam’Bati River Resort is a peaceful spot just outside Swellendam. It sits on a beautiful piece of farmland where two rivers meet. The setting feels open, green, and calm. It is the kind of place where kids can run around freely while parents relax.
The resort is super family-friendly. There are different sized pools with slides, mini golf, cycling paths, a playground and lots of open space. Kids can splash in the river, build sand castles, or try fishing.
Camping, Cabins, and Glamping
You can camp on large grassy stands. Each stand has power points and clean ablution blocks nearby. If you prefer more comfort, Kam’Bati also has self-catering cabins. These cabins look out over a small dam and come with a patio and a braai area. Some of them also have wood-fired hot tubs, which are great at sunset.
There is also a glamping option. The Africamps tents are large and very comfortable. They have proper beds, a small kitchen, an indoor fireplace, and an outdoor hot tub. It is a good choice if you want the camping feel without giving up comfort.
Things To Do
The resort has many small things that make a stay easy. There is a pizza restaurant next to the pool which also serves chips, ice cream and cool drinks during the day. The river is close to all the stands and cabins. The area is safe for kids to explore. You can also take slow walks, watch birds, or sit by the water and relax. Swellendam is only a short drive away. You can visit the town or explore Bontebok National Park for a bit of extra adventure.
Kam’Bati is a fantastic getaway destination for families. Nature, space, clean facilities, and things for kids to do. It is close enough for a weekend trip from Cape Town but far enough to feel like a real escape.
