After 12 years of ]=living in Cape Town, we finally discovered this little gem in the heart of Camps Bay. Well hidden in the residential area, you’ll find the entrance to the Little Glen Nature Area where a stoney walkway leads you down to the green play and relax area of the park.
For the kids, there is a little jungle gym with a slide and monkey bars. But the highlight surely is the tree swing and the ropes attached to a thick branch. Our kids absolutely loved it and had so much fun swinging from one side to the other. While the kids are playing, you can sit down on one of the benches, enjoy the views of Lion’s Head or simply listen so the subtle sounds of the little stream flowing downhill.
Lovers enjoy the sunset, dog owners take their furry friends for a long nature walk and kids play and laugh. It’s very idyllic, clean and cozy. Pay this playground a visit if you’re around in Camps Bay. It’s worth it.
As the grandson of the late Arthur Shephard, who was heavily involved both personally and monetarily in the renovation of this space (and as someone who got to see many steps of the process), it is great to see that even after many years, that the area is still being appreciated and enjoyed by those who visit it. Thank you for your wonderful review of here.
