Moyo Restaurant @Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens

This Moyo Restaurant definitely has the most amazing location as it is conveniently nestled into Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens AND sits at the slope of Table Mountain. So it cannot get any better than that, but the location also comes with a price: when you would like to get a taste of their delicious African cuisine, you will have to pay the entrance fees of the Botanical Gardens in order to get there.

But it’s certainly worth it and families, visitors and locals alike can have an amazing time exploring the Garden and sitting down for lunch or a picnic at Moyo.

Their menu offers anything from starters, salads, light meals, meat and seafood and desserts. They also have a kiddies menu and you can check out their full menu here: MENU

The kids can either ask for some paper and crayons at the table or play outside at the lovely jungle gym which features swings, a slide and climbing gear. Alternatively, they can run around and play games on the massive lawns or simply explore the area around the restaurant. It surely won’t get boring.

Moyo also offers the most unique entertainment by welcoming its guests to the age-old tradition of African hand-washing and face painting ceremonies. So if you want to, you’re not only leaving the place with a huge smile on your face, but also with some pretty African face painting.

Our Experience

We absolutely love Kirstenbosch as there is so much to explore that you can easily spend an entire day there. The children admire the flowers, discover huge trees to climb on, explore hidden ways and the tree walk and so much more! The restaurant is always a great place to sit down and relax a little from the long walks and suck in some new energy. The food tastes delicious, the kids can play outside and the location itself is just breath-taking. We love it!
