The Farm Village / Noordhoek

A place where everybody is happy

We often drive out to The Farm Village in Noordhoek on the weekend to start our day with some fun for everyone. The little shops are for Mom, the ice cream parlour and the playground are for the kids and Dad can grab a beer or fresh juice. The wide open area is very inviting and the big lawn is just killing it for our kids. They can run around, play ball, make bubbles, ride their bikes or play hide and seek. This is a paradise for those who want more than a single choice and you could easily spend half a day there without getting bored.

The amount of choices and activities at the Village are endless. You have multiple options to eat, to drink, to shop and things to experience. You can always check their website for a full overview, but let’s list a few of them here as well.

Food Choices: Cafe Roux (we always have cinnamon pancakes from there – the kids just love them); Kristen’s Kick Ass Ice Cream (they do baby scoops); The Toad; Village Sushi; The Foodbarn; Edo

Drink Choices: FaithJuice; The Burrow Basement Bar; The Village Roast

Shops: All Things Earthly; Equibox; Fat Cats and Dogs; Metro Organics; Namaste; Tenga Tenga

Experiences: Caroline’s Health and Beauty; Village Car Wash; YogaLife Noordhoek; The Loft Co-Working Office

During the warmer months, they also feature a weekly open-air market with a variety of food, drinks and other goodies. Find out more about the Farm Village Market here.

Our Experience

This place is simply amazing for parents and kids of all ages. Our children love to play at the playground and usually occupy the old tractor first. The lawn gives you enough space for all kinds of games and it never gets boring. We often have lunch at Cafe Roux and always choose the pancakes as our desert. We can highly recommend them. The ice cream is also amazing and a fixed bullet point on our to-do list whenever we drive out there. I personally love to shop around at Namaste shop. They have cute little things from unusual sweets, candles, stones, jewellery and gift ideas. I have never walked out there without buying at least something small. And when you’re not in a rush, you can even drive home with a clean car from the Village Car Wash. A win win for everybody!
