Bay Harbour Market: A Vibrant Market in Hout Bay

This indoor market simply has it all: It’s a place where the creative energy and the vibrancy of Cape Town come alive in an authentic fish factory in a working harbour… where people of all ages and cultures gather alongside one another to celebrate the unique South African spirit… where the hustle and bustle of a boisterous market fills the air… where you find arts and crafts alongside a variety of food traders…

Every weekend the Bay Harbour Market opens its door to greet its visitors from near and far. To us, Friday nights are the best as you can enjoy the vibrant atmosphere in company of amazing live music with ever changing talented musicians. You can have a real party there with friendly people all around you. It doesn’t have a playground or kiddies entertainment area, but kids can still enjoy the market vibes and usually find some things to do there. They can either dance and sing along with the music, get some delicious ice cream or waffles or even find some new toys (if parents are generous on that market day).

It’s open every Friday from 5pm – 9pm and Saturday/Sunday from 9.30am – 4pm. Unfortunately, no pets are allowed inside the market. They also have a little outside area for those who prefer a fresh sea breeze. The rest of you can enjoy the generous inside area with an open fireplace, lots of tables and vendors.
