Every Saturday and Sunday you can bring your family to this special market in Stellenbosch with a seasonal focus and a strong emphasis on local, organic and sustainable food, produce and goods. Besides a good variety of vendors, you can also indulge in food heaven. You get everything from Shwarma, Dumplings, Burgers, Sweet Treats, Ice Cream, Flammkuchen, Tunesien Delights, Waffles on a Stick, you name it… If you leave this place hungry, you certainly have missed out big time.

In the restaurants, you can also order wonderful platters, a kiddie snack box and other treats in case you prefer to sit down or munch your food on one of their massive green lawns. There is an amazing playground at the back of the venue (opposite side of the bike park) in case you want to spend a relaxed afternoon at the market without paying an entrance fee. It features slides, swings, a zip line and lots of climbing opportunities. So it shouldn’t get boring and a big plus: even on a hot day, the kids can play there as the playground is nestled underneath some big trees which provide lots of shade.

Bike Park

The main attraction and entertainment area for the kids is the bike park. They can take their bike or skateboard out and have the best day at Blaauwklippen. The Specialized Experience Centre and the Bike Park features a Velosolutions Pump Track and a state-of-the-art kiddies play area with a cycling track and a massive jungle gym. The entrance fee is R75 per rider and you can even plan a kiddies birthday party in there. Attention: The bike park is closed on a Monday! It’s open Tuesday to Friday 11:00 – 17:00 and on weekends from 09:00 – 17:00. The bike park with its huge playground is also a popular spot for kiddies birthday parties. With a minimum of 10 kids per party (maximum 20), you can choose your preferred day and time during the opening hours of the park (Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays). You should enquire well in advance though, because they only allow a maximum of two parties per day and require at least 1 week notice. The duration of a party is limited to three hours and can be booked either in the morning between 10am – 12pm or in the afternoon between 1pm – 5pm.

The cost per child/rider is R200 and includes:

• A Kiddies Party Meal Box (for every child) that includes Juice Box Fruit Juice, Soft Cheese Portion, Cheese & Tomato Sandwich , Chewy Sweets, a Packet of Crisps and Giant Choc Chip Cookie
• FREE Ticket for the birthday boy/girl (redeemable on a later visit)

There are a few rules that apply at the bike park and must be adhered to: every rider needs to wear a helmet, closed shoes are compulsory on the Pump Track, children under the age of 18 need to fill out an indemnity form to gain access to the bike park and no outside food is allowed in the Bike Park, except for party cakes and cupcakes.
