The Restaurant
At the heart of De Werf lies its renowned restaurant, where culinary creativity meets locally sourced ingredients to craft dishes that tantalize the taste buds. From hearty breakfasts to delicious lunches, the menu caters to diverse palates, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Of course, they do offer a kiddies menu as well.
The Restaurant is open 7 days a week between 08:00 and 16:00. The yummy wood-fired pizzas are even available until 17:00.
The Weekend Market Experience
In addition to its exceptional restaurant, De Werf hosts a vibrant weekend market that showcases the best of local craftsmanship, artistry, and culinary delights every Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 – 16:00.
You can browse through stalls with handcrafted treasures, that range from textiles to designed pottery to oils and soaps and much more. Each item tells a story of the talented artisans who pour their passion into every creation, making it the perfect souvenir or gift to take home.
Food lovers can wander through the market stalls laden with gourmet treats and artisanal delicacies. Indulge in freshly baked pastries, artisan cheeses, and organic preserves, or sample exotic spices and flavorful sauces that add a dash of excitement to your culinary repertoire. There are 12 inside food stalls to pick your favourite dish from.
Whether you choose to sit inside or outside, you can hear live music filling the air, adding to the relaxed ambiance of the market. The children will find a massive play area outside with water slides, a huge jumping pillow, little tunnels to play hide and seek and lots of space to run around and play games.
There is also the opportunity for horse riding. A ticket costs R40 (in 2024) and can be purchased at the market bar.

We visited De Werf for the Weekend Market and browsed through the different farm stalls and bought a little something as a gift. They have plenty of food options available and the outside play area was just phenomenal. Our kids enjoyed the jumping pillow the most, but we also went to see the horses and enjoyed their company. It’s a very laid back market with live music and a nice shaded outside seating area.
