Our Take
Dias Tavern is a restaurant chain which can be found in Cape Town, Claremont and Bellville and serves traditional Portuguese cuisine. The branch in Claremont is located at the Villager Football Club and offers plenty of space for families and kids who love to run around and burn off some energy on the sports field.
Their menu offers a variety of different choices ranging from classic starters, to delicious mains and something sweet for dessert. They also have a kiddies menu from which the little ones can choose their favourite dish.
The outside area not only consists of a large sports field, but also includes a jungle gym and jumping castle which will be fully operating on most days.

We visited Dias Tavern in Claremont on a Sunday so that the kids could get a free meal and soft drink as per their Sunday special. Unfortunately, it was a super windy day so the kids couldn’t go play outside and the jumping castle wasn’t put up on that day. Luckily, the inside seating area is very big und the kids could walk around and explore the restaurant while we were waiting for the food. On a sunny day, the outside area is fabulous with lots of space to run around. The portions were quite big and it’s a great location to take the kids out for a Sunday lunch.
