They’ve got an awesome selection of wines, and each one comes with a story. Ever heard of the “La Cotte Mill Chenin Blanc” or the “Churchyard Cabernet Sauvignon”? These aren’t just fancy names—they actually nod to local landmarks and history.

The food at Franschhoek Cellar is another reason to visit. The on-site restaurant and garden-style bistro serve up fresh, local dishes that change with the seasons. There’s outdoor seating too, so you can sip and snack while soaking up the Franschhoek sunshine. The kitchen serves light meals and salads, boards and snacks, delicious mains and desserts as well as a lovely kiddies menu selection.

The Wine Cellar and Kitchen are open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm and Sundays from 10am to 5pm.

The Play Area

Franschhoek Cellar has a fantastic outside (but also covered) play area for children. It is securely fenced and the little ones can run wild and explore cute jungle gyms, miniature play houses, a little bike track and toys. There are also childminders on duty who make sure that the children play safely while you wine and dine in peace.
