Freedom Adventure Park at Canal Walk is an action-packed indoor adventure destination for kids. With exciting activities designed to get children moving, climbing and challenging themselves, it’s a great option for active family fun in Cape Town.
Our Take
The biggest Indoor Play Park in South Africa has opened its doors in 2024 and we have a new go-to place for those rainy and cold Cape Town days. The brand-new Freedom Adventure Park is conveniently located at the Canal Walk shopping center and simply has it all. Whether you’re 1 or 100 years old, ultimate fun is waiting for you!
Freedom Canal Walk is a 26,000 square foot fun park where adrenaline junkies, fun seekers and action lovers can spend their time without getting bored at all. There are so many things to explore and discover, that it’s almost impossible to list them all. But let us give you some of the highlights:

- A Ninja Run Obstacle Course
- An extreme rope course and an insane 30m zip line
- Pedal Karts

For the busy parents, they also feature some work pods that are free to use whenever you need to charge your phones or get some work done during your stay and of course, you’ll also get some complimentary Wifi.
Freedom Canal Walk also features a fully equipped pizzeria that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner and the usual kiddies treats for their enjoyment.
Wearing grip socks during your visit is mandatory BUT we love that they allow any brand of non-slip socks as long as they are in good condition and you don’t necessarily have to purchase grip socks from them. In case you want them anyways, they’re R50 a pair.
Kiddies Birthday Parties
Freedom Canal Walk offers a range of party packages suitable for all ages, groups & sizes. They do fully customised parties where you can choose from fully themed decor, cakes, themed cookies to adult catering, Mimosa bar, Champagne & more. It’s an epic venue with many different options. Please note that all parties require a minimum of 10 children including the guest of honour. Only the Toddler Party requires a minimum of 5 children.
If you wish to bring in your own food, you will have to pay a surcharge of R495 on top of the party booking with a maximum of 6 platters allowed per party. It’s also possible to bring in your own birthday cake with an additional cakage fee of R250.

We went to the opening night and the kids were super excited to check out the new venue as they are obsessed with indoor play parks. And this one definitely did not disappoint and even exceeded their expectations! The play park is huge and filled with so many exciting activities that you can easily spend an entire day in it. Burning off energy is 100% guaranteed and you can test your skills in a Ninja Obstacle course, jump around on the many trampolines, slide across the room on the insane zip line, play soccer, slide down extreme slides, start a race on the pedal karts, find your way out the giant ball maze… It just doesn’t end and when you get hungry in-between all the fun and action, the play park is equipped with a lovely pizzeria which caters breakfast, lunch and dinner. What can we say, you surely cannot go wrong with this one!
