Green Point Park is a beautiful family-friendly park with playgrounds, gardens, ponds and plenty of open space to explore. It’s a great place for kids to play, run around and enjoy the outdoors in the heart of Cape Town.
Our Take
If you want to enjoy some peace and quietness after work, but your kids are still full of energy, then Green Point Park is the place to go. You can take a relaxed walk while the children can ride their bikes, play ball on the lawns or get busy on the different playgrounds.
One playground is specifically designed for the smaller children aged 0 – 6 years. It’s the toddler play area and you won’t find any “dangerous” equipment there. There are baby swings, a swinging bridge, little places to hide, a balancing structure and of course a toddler friendly jungle gym.
The bigger playground is not far away from that one and offers a much larger variety of things to do – and more challenging ones. High swings, super tall slides, bouncing equipment, a huge jungle gym, and much more.

On weekends and during the day, the park and the playground can be a little bit crowded. So we prefer to go there around 5pm when it’s a little quieter there. Then you almost have the entire place to yourself and the kids can go wild. Since it’s a massive park, it’s also great to take the kiddies bikes and skateboards with. Then they don’t complain that they have to walk all the time. We love the park as you feel in nature although you’re right in the middle of town.
