Huckleberry Fish Farm near Stellenbosch is a peaceful countryside destination where families can enjoy the outdoors and experience life on a working fish farm. A relaxed outing for families looking to escape the city and enjoy a different side of the Winelands.
Our Take
The Huckleberry Fish Farm is a place for the entire family where children and adults alike can enjoy a unique fishing experience and spend the day having fun with lots of additional activities on offer.
The entrance fee for the day is R100 per person where kids under the age of 4 enter for free.
The generous park features two well sized ponds where you can train your fishing skills. You can either bring along your own fishing gear or simply rent a fishing rod for R50.
Other activities that are already included in the entrance fee, are:
✔️ Playing putt putt
✔️ Going on the Zip line
✔️ Having fun on the paddle bikes
✔️ Feeding the cute farm animals. A feedings bucket costs R5
✔️ Cooling off on the water slide or in the water feature
✔️ Going wild on the playgrounds
✔️ Having a picnic or braai on the lawn.
The area is huge and there is so much to do that you won’t get bored easily. Pack a picnic basket or even start your own braai while you are there and make it a whole family feast. There are plenty of seating spaces available and most of them are equipped with a braai that you are free to use.

Our kids had an absolute blast at this place and it’s surely one of our top finds in Stellenbosch when you are looking for a spot to spend the entire day at. The area is huge and filled with lots of different activities. Our kids enjoyed the zip line and paddle bikes the most, while other children were going wild on the water slide and playing putt putt. Of course, most families came for the fishing experience and one lucky girl even caught a fish while we were filming it.
You can also feed cute animals, run around on the huge lawn or play at the playground. So the best thing is packing some food and drinks as well as a picnic blanket and make the most of this beautiful place on a hot summer day.
