Profile
Jason’s Hill Private Cellar near Rawsonville is a beautiful wine farm surrounded by mountains and peaceful countryside. It’s a lovely family-friendly destination to enjoy the scenery, good food and a relaxed day in the Breedekloof Valley.
Our Take
Jason’s Hill is a beautiful Wine Estate in the heart of the Breedekloof, at the foot of the Slanghoek Mountains. The views are spectacular and the wines even greater. Since its establishment in 2002, the farm keeps producing award-winning wines which are available to taste. You can visit the tasting room during the normal operating hours and tastings cost R50 or R100 per person (depending on the range you’d like to taste).
They don’t have a restaurant on site, but you can still grad a little something to eat while sipping on your wines. They make delicious cheese platters with a variety of cheeses, pesto’s, meat and seasonal fruits. And it’s affordable too! Cheese platters are available for only R150.
The kids can have their own fun and make space of the wide open space and the giant picture frame on the lawn. There is also a small playground with a slide, swings and giant trampoline. So it surely won’t get boring for them. There is also a small shop outside which sells soft drinks, ice cream and other goodies.
At Jason’s Hill you can also hike through the mountain, experiencing it first-hand. The trail is 6.6 km, with two waterfalls and a running stream during the winter months. It’s a difficult route and should be done with extreme caution. Hikers should start before 13:00 and it can take up to four hours to finish. Registration at the reception desk is required. Price for Hiking is R50 per person.

The location of this estate is absolutely breath-taking and you can enjoy your wine and cheese platter in a fabulous surrounding. The kids can run around or play at the little playground which is equipped with swings, a slide and trampoline. It surely doesn’t get boring for them and it’s a lovely stop-over. The wine is super affordable and delicious. So we took home 18 bottles on our last visit 😅 We can highly recommend it.
