Loads of activities are waiting for you and your kids at Le Bonheur. It’s not for the faint hearted, so make sure you’re not scared by those reptiles! Here is an overview of what you can do at the reptile park:

Crocodile Pond Tours

On that tour an expert guide will show you around a captive-bred bask of more than 200 crocs, ranging from hatchlings to adults. You’ll walk on ramp ways spanning four large dams, all the while learning more about Africa’s largest reptile. You might even get a chance to view these fascinating predators in their underwater environment from their viewing cabin. No bookings are required as they schedule 11 daily crocodile tours. You can also join a sunset croc pond tour on Friday and Saturday evenings at 6:45pm.

Snake Exhibitions and Shows

The snake exhibition is an indoor self-guided ‘Snakes in Transit’ snake exhibition and features an impressive collection of local and foreign snakes. The snakes are housed in roomy enclosures fronted with safety glass and you can read all about them. On Saturdays and Sundays and public holidays (at 12h10) you can also join their experienced snake handler when he puts on an interactive snake show.

‘Africa’s deadliest’ snake shows are conducted on certain public holidays at 12h10 -during these shows the snake handler will introduce some of Africa’s most feared snakes – with a touch component! ENQUIRIES AND BOOKINGS ADVISED for the snake shows.

Crocodile Cage Diving

If you’re brave enough you can even book a crocodile cage diving experience. The close encounter includes a safety briefing and all diving equipment. You’ll enter a sturdy and spacious cage that’s surrounded by water on all sides. You’ll spend around 20 minutes in the crocs’ watery habitat and get to observe how these ambush predators behave in their element. The crocodile cage diving experience is both underwater and at surface level. The allowed age for this experience is 9+ and takes place between September to April.

The cage dive experience costs R560 for an adult and R420 for under 18 year olds. They also have a couples special for R1000. It is cheaper if you don’t make an online booking, so you can save some bucks if you spontaneously book the adventure as a walk-in guest.

Bass Fishing/Rowing/Cycling

Their tranquil dam is stocked with bass and tilapia (but no crocs!) and great for bass fishing. You can either arrange an in-depth lesson with a professional fishing guide to take your bass fishing to the next level or you bring your own gear and enjoy the day out with a view.

If you’re more into the biking experience, you can ride your bike on the Slinky snaky cycle track. It is ideal for kids 3-7. Bring your own bike or rent one from them. BOOKINGS RECOMMENDED, UNLESS YOU BRING YOUR OWN GEAR.

Birthday Parties

This is a very special kiddies birthday venue with crocodiles, pizzas and play areas galore. They offer a lot of individual choices to make it a special day according to your preferences. You can choose from 3 different venues (jungle look-out/ picnic lawn/ waterside braai), 3 different food options (self-catering/kiddies menu/pizza party) and optional activities.

Please note that they don’t allow any balloons at their venue due to the risk it poses to the crocodilian species should it end in their ponds and be ingested!
