Mikes Kitchen in Milnerton is a relaxed family-friendly restaurant serving a wide range of comfort food favourites. With a welcoming atmosphere and options for the whole family, it’s an easy choice for a casual family meal.
Our Take
Mike’s Kitchen already has a 50 year history since it first opened its doors in Johannesburg in 1972. Since then, it spread nationwide and the concept clearly is a winner! This is family dining par excellence and it can barely get any better than that.
The restaurant has in indoor and outdoor play area, so the kids can keep themselves busy even on those rainy days and each playground is very well equipped.
The outside play area has a huge jungle gym with three big slides, climbing features, a trampoline and space to run around.
Indoors, the kids will find computer games, a work station, air hockey and some machines to try their luck on. The good thing: they’ve got one of these new machines where every entry gets a prize. So the kids basically cannot loose and your money is well spent. Win win for everyone.
While the kids are busy, you can enjoy a fun dining experience with a great selection of different food options. On their menu you’ll find salads, burgers, steaks, ribs, signature dishes and much more! They also have a kiddies menu with yummy milkshakes and the classic kids favourites.
Kiddies Birthday Parties
Since they have such a great venue, you can easily celebrate your child’s birthday party at the restaurant and the kids will surely enjoy it very much!
The birthday boy/girl will be treated to a FREE kiddie’s meal, soda, balloon, Mikey ice-cream and an awesome gift.
All their party guests get to enjoy their choice between three yummy kiddie’s meals, a soda, balloon and a Mikey ice-cream. Offers vary between stores, so you will need to contact them for a quote.

The kids really had a great time playing at the different play areas and we had a good dining experience. The food was delicious, the kids loved their milkshakes and we enjoyed a salad and a burger. All was very yummy, the waiters super friendly and the kids didn’t want to stop playing. The best part for them: the claw machine that gives out a prize every time you play. It costs R10, but they can try for as long as they want until they grab something. Seeing those proud and happy faces made my day and we surely come back very soon!
