If you head beyond Boulders Beach towards Cape Point, you’ll come across Miller’s Point roughly 5 kilometres south of Simon’s Town. It’s one of the last easy-access bays before Cape Point and a great opportunity to discover a hidden gem.

You must take the second Miller’s Point turn-off which takes you to Rumbly Bay. There, you’ll find a couple of boat launch sites as well as Miller’s Point Tidal Pool. In order to reach the rather hidden pool, you need to go on a short walk. But it’s absolutely worth it since you will be greeted by a beautiful rock pool with incredible views out over the rocky bay. It even features a little water slide for the kids. There are additional natural sea pools all over the place so that the children can paddle, splash around and have some fun on a hot day.

There are also braai areas , changing rooms and picnic spots around the pool, so make sure to get there early enough to secure a spot for you and the family. It might be hidden, but many people have heard of this fabulous tidal pool already and head out there for a relaxed day in nature.

You can also use the spot for kayaking, snorkelling, surf skis and scuba-diving, with popular dive sites (Partridge Point, Castle Rock and Smitswinkel) nearby.

Although it’s a hidden spot and a top secret place, you will have to pay an entry fee on weekends and during peak season. Adults pay R18 and children pay R7.
