Paradise Park in Newlands is a hidden neighborhood gem featuring lush trees, wooden treehouses, climbing structures, and a gently flowing stream. With plenty of shade and open grassy spots for picnics, it offers a magical outdoor playground for toddlers and young children.

A hidden gem in nature and a leafy oasis for hot Cape Town summers
You wouldn’t expect such a beautiful spot in the heart of Newlands where kids can play among the trees, fully shaded and out in nature. The park is 100% worth a visit for its different play areas, stream, treehouse and outdoor gym.
As the name already suggests, this is a park with play facilities all over the place. You can enter the park from different places and either end up on the first playground immediately or you make your way along the tree house, the little stream and then you can spot the two play areas. If you have dogs, this is also a fantastic treat for them. Take them with and they will probably enjoy the park as much as the kids.
There are no public toilets in the park. At the top, you’ll find a gas station with toilets in case you need to use a restroom during your park visit.
You have also security guards patrolling the park during the day to add some extra safety features.

We love to go there. In winter and summer alike, but you’ll find that in summer it’s especially nice because the shades of the trees keep the park quite cool and you can actually breath through. The most fun thing is the tree house and the play areas. But they also have quite decent playgrounds with everything a child would look out for: high slides, lots of swings, carousels, a see-saw, climbing facilities and even an outdoor gym. It truly is a well-kept secret as it seems, because we never see many families out there.
