Pavilion Park is a neat little fenced play park for kids right next to the Sea Point Pavilion Swimming Pool. We first thought that it might be closed, because the main gate was locked, but the side door was open and you will be able to have some play fun right in front of the ocean.

The park features a huge wooden jungle gym, a fun rocking horse, swings and a bike track where the little ones can ride their scooters, bikes and skateboards. The bike track is built around a huge sand pit where the kids will also find some sand toys to play with. The age limitation is 14. So kids older than that are theoretically “not allowed” to play there.

The parents can conveniently sit down in the shaded seating area to have a picnic or some snacks during playtime. You could probably also set up a small birthday party in there as the park is fenced and secure from people who walk by. You can also bring along your dog but you should keep your furry friend on a leash and obviously clean up after No.2.

As the play park is literally built just in front of the ocean, you will also be able to enjoy the sound of the waves and some ocean views. Public toilets are not far away and you can also stop by at the Sea Point Promenade Food Stalls in case the kids are craving some ice cream, waffles or proper finger food.
