This spectacular free fall tower built on the 28th floor of the Sky Hotel is one of only three in the world and the first of its kind in Africa. This is surely not for the faint-hearted person and you need to be an adrenaline junkie in order to enjoy the experience.

That’s why this activity is only suitable for children from the age of 8 and you also shouldn’t book it as a 70th birthday surprise gift for anyone – if you know what I mean. If you’re at least 1,30m tall, then nothing is in your way to have some massive fun high up above the city centre.

The free fall tower itself is 35 metres high. You will slowly move up to the top and hang out there for a while to soak in the beautiful views. You can either face the mountain side or the ocean and harbour side. Either way, you’ll get a bird’s eye view of the Mother City before you will be released (no warning beforehand, it’s a total surprise) to a breath-taking free fall drop.

You will reach a speed of up to 100km per hour and experience forces of almost 4G’s. The good news is: it’s over relatively quickly and you probably want to do it again right afterwards. And you actually get to do it a second time in a row, because a Riders Ticket includes 2x rides on the Sky-Hi Ride and a free video to remember your face during the free fall. Absolutely worth it!

Things to Check

There are just a few things to check before you make a booking:

• All rides are weather dependent and cannot operate under certain wind conditions, rain or heavy mist. So definitely check the weather forecast and be prepared that the activity might be cancelled on short notice. In that case, you can re-book your ticket within 7 days.
• They only allow on passengers between 8 and 65.
• If you have any of the following medical conditions, the ride is NOT for you: Riders with pacemakers, suffering from heart disease, are pregnant, have a mental disorder, are less abled, have injuries to their backbone or vertebrae, suffer from hypertension, people who are under medical care and riders with any medical condition which could be aggravated by the use of the ride.
• Persons under the influence of alcohol & drugs will not be permitted.
• Your personal belongings must be stored away in a locker before you go on the ride. No loose objects / sunglasses or handbags should be taken on the ride.
• A maximum of 10 people can go on one ride at the same time.
• Spectators can come along to the top and watch the action from the viewing platform. However, you will need to book an Observer Ticket to go to the top.
