If you love to eat fish, then Snoekies in Hout Bay should be on your list for some fresh hake, calamari, snoek and prawns. Snoekies is a long-established restaurant chain with it’s very first beginnings in Hout Bay dating back to the 1930’s.
Now, you can find various Snoekies restaurants around Cape Town and enjoy the pleasures of delicious sea food combos. The one in Hout Bay is especially great for families because of the enormous indoor play area for children. On the upper level, you not only find a dining area with fantastic views, but also a huge playground that keeps the kids entertained while you enjoy your meal.
The play area consists of a jungle gym, an actual sandpit, play houses with toys, a mini soccer table, a climbing wall, soft toys and more! No matter if it’s rain or shine, Snoekies is the place to go if you are looking for some fun indoor entertainment at a restaurant.

Although we’re not eating a lot of fish as a family, we still visited Snoekies on a winter day to keep the kids entertained and they loved the play area upstairs. It is super big with lots of different things to do and explore and we can definitely recommend it for families with especially younger children. They will certainly enjoy the play time at Snoekies and you can relax in the upstairs seating area and admire the amazing views.
