Our Take
The Gelateria in Kalk Bay is one of the more affordable ice cream places in and around town and they ask for relatively fair prices for their scoops of ice cream. They offer sorbets and milk ice cream with changing flavours every day! So their ice cream is freshly made and really delicious.
The place inside is too small to sit down, but they have two benches right next to the entrance where you can sit down and eat your ice cream.
Just watch the little ones as the shop is on Main Street and a busy road right in front of you. Otherwise, it’s a really great place for some quick sweet treats in between!

Whenever we stop for a little play session in Kalk Bay at Lever Street Park, we always get some ice cream at The Ice Cafe beforehand. They have delicious flavours to choose from and compared to some other places, they still offer affordable prices for a scoop.
Again, there is no baby scoop option and they only serve full sized scoops which is not ideal for the kids. We usually only have two cups of ice cream for the four of us because we know the children struggle to finish their portion. It’s also located right at the Main Road which means you have a busy road next to you and it’s a bit stressful to enjoy the ice cream on the benches in front of the shop. We do prefer the more quiet places, but our kids love the gelato anyways. So we give them that treat.
