Mistico is a beautiful estate in Paarl that is usually known for its exquisite equestrian events. They are hosting numerous national and international shows and they are accredited by the South African Equestrian Federation. But even if you have never attended an equestrian show before, Mistico is well worth a visit as the venue features a fantastic family-friendly restaurant (named “The Kitchen”) with amazing food and lots of entertainment for the little ones.
The modern look and feel of the open space restaurant is absolutely breath-taking and you’ll be greeted by friendly staff members, a cozy fireplace, an elegant outside deck and lush green lawns for the kids to play on. Children will have an awesome time at the restaurant as it not only features a kiddies menu but also a fun jumping castle and large playground with jungle gyms, a slide, monkey bars, swings and much more.
The entire space is well looked after and you feel at home right away. You are also able to bring along your dogs and make it a perfect outing for your fur friends as well.
Behind the fence, you can watch the antelopes grazing while you enjoy a delicious breakfast, a casual pizza, the finest fillet cuts or pork belly.

We were so happy to have found another family-friendly gem in Paarl that we’ve never heard of before. The Kitchen is a perfect mix of luxurious dining, stylish interior, and welcoming you as a family with kids and pet friends in mind. The kids loved the huge jumping castle and burned a lot of energy running all over the place. The two jungle gyms in the back of the garden (but still insight of the outside tables) were an additional bonus and added to the fun. The food was absolutely delicious and for us in the fine dining category. Surprisingly enough, the prices in the menu are more than fair and absolutely affordable!
