The Stable Shop is located at the Riding Centre in Hout Bay and open to the public as well as to riders who love to take out their horses. It’s a cute Cafe where farm animals roam around freely and kids can play in a safe and welcoming environment.

There are many furry friends that will keep the kids busy during your visit. Their are chickens, Henry the Sheep, the cutest ponies, pigs, ducks, farm dogs, birds, goats and, of course, the beautiful horses!

All animals are super friendly and used to the humans visiting their home. So kids can pet them, sit on them and play with them. There is also an amazing play area that the children will enjoy. It is right in sight of the lovely outside seating area so that you can always keep an eye on the little ones while they are playing. There are swings, a jungle gym, scooters, a sand pit, rocking horses and bikes. Our kids fell in love with the red tractor and got lost in the fantasy play.

In the back of the venue, the kids will find another adventure play area with even more things to explore. This is also a perfect space for kiddies birthday parties or family meet-ups. You can even have a braai with friends and family if you hire the venue for your special occasion.

The Stable Cafe offers a delicious breakfast and lunch menu. It is very affordable and delicious. You can choose between different breakfast options, a variety of snacks and toasties, wraps and burgers as well as a kiddies menu. Milkshakes and Pancakes are surely a favourite!

Pony Rides

Pony rides are available for children between 2 to 11 years old. The rides last 10 to 15 minutes and cost R80 per child. Rides are available on a Monday from 14:30 – 15:45 and Tuesday through to Saturday from 09:30 to 10:45 and again from 14:30 – 15:45.

There is no need to make a booking. You can simply arrive at the Stable Shop and fill in your details in the form on the counter. All riders must please wear closed shoes and they will provide the kids with the helmets.
