Whale of a Time was born out of a parent’s dream: a place where children can immerse themselves in playful adventures and, at the same time, adults can relax, eat, or even catch some quiet moments. Whale of a Time Play Park is nestled in the Hemel-en-Aarde Village of Hermanus and boasts both indoor and outdoor facilities, ensuring play is possible no matter the weather. While the kids find a huge jungle gym on the outside, there are plenty of fun things waiting for them on the inside, too:

– A dedicated toddler area for kids under 98cm
– Climbing wall and hi-line course
– Zip line
– Different fun slides
– Trampoline area
– Soft maze

There is also a restaurant on site that serves all day breakfast, burgers, salads and more. They are also fully licensed and you’ll be able to get alcoholic drinks as well.

Entry & Pricing (in 2025)

The park’s pricing structure is tiered by age, and also differentiates between peak and off-peak times.

Peak times (Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, school holidays):
• Ages 1–3: R130 for a 2-hour session
• Ages 4 and above: R170 for a 2-hour session
• Under 1 year: Free, but a pair of play socks still required (one-off payment)
• Adults: Free admission (but socks required if using play area)

Off Peak times (Tuesday to Friday):
• Ages 1–3: R110 for a 4-hour session
• Ages 4 and above: R150 for a 4-hour session
• Under 1 year: Free, but a pair of play socks still required (one-off payment)
• Adults: Free admission (but socks required if using play area)

Memberships:
• Peak membership: R800 per month — unlimited 2-hour slots anytime (includes one pair of play socks)
• Off-peak membership: R500 per month — unlimited 4-hour sessions on weekday “off-peak” times (includes socks)
