Raven Family Market / Plumstead

This brand new Cape Town market takes place every first Sunday of the month and is hosted on the beautiful grounds of Cape Town Cricket club. You can either park inside the premises if you get there early enough or make use of the street parking which is safe and free to use.

You will be welcomed by amazing live music, many food stalls to choose your favourite food from (Halaal and Non-Halaal) and a variety of vendors with arts and crafts of all sorts. They feature jewellery, beautiful plants, artisan food, kiddies toys, fashion items, healthy stuff and much more.

They also set up a jumping castle for the kiddies and quite a few entertainment options such as rock painting and face glitter tattoos. Your furry friends are more than welcome too and you can have a great family time outdoors!

The seating spots are still limited, but there is a fantastic green picnic lawn for those who like to sit down in the grass and enjoy some picnic vibes.

Our Experience

This is a cute little market where you can easily stop by, have some food and drinks and let the kiddies roam around to find some new toys or sweet treats. There are also quite a few stalls with amazing crafts and low prices. If you go to markets regularly you will probably recognise quite a few of them. The live music was also really great and the kids enjoyed the candy floss treat. However, there were only few seating options available and all benches and tables were taken already. So we couldn’t sit down and enjoy the vibes 100% because we were juggling around with our stuff and watching over the kids. This might be improved in the long-run so that more people get a chance to sit down and stay for a bit longer.
