Tucked away between the scenic winelands of Paarl and Franschhoek, the Simondium Guild in Paarl is more than a creative hub—it’s a perfect family destination where artistry, flavour, and craftsmanship all come together. If you’re looking for a day filled with beautiful experiences, make sure to visit four absolute highlights: Glamour and Glass, Painted Wolf Wines, the Sip Society Café and Soul Barrel Brewery.
Glamour and Glass: A Sparkling Celebration of Craft
At Glamour and Glass, you can paint your own glassware and turn it into a personal masterpiece. Whether it’s for you or the kids, painting your own glassware is truly unique and fun for all ages. The concept is similar to clay painting:
1. You pick your preferred glassware item
2. Choose a design to put on
3. Scratch out the parts that you’d like to colour in
4. Choose your colours… and get creative!
Just keep in mind that the glass needs to go in the kiln afterwards, so you cannot take your masterpice home straight away. You will have to come back again to collect your item – or maybe just do more on your next visit.
You can also book a birthday party, hen party or plan a team-building session. It will surely be a hit! Plus, you can shop their gorgeous handcrafted collections including elegant glassware, fun items for kids, kitchen must-haves and beautiful gifts for any occasion.

Painted Wolf Wines: Sip, Savor, Support
Wine lovers, rejoice: Painted Wolf Wines has made its home at the Simondium Guild too. Known for their adventurous spirit and award-winning wines, Painted Wolf specialises in creating small-batch, handcrafted wines that are full of character and story.
Their name pays tribute to the African wild dog (also called a painted wolf)—a remarkable but endangered animal. A portion of Painted Wolf’s proceeds goes directly towards conservation efforts, meaning every sip supports a meaningful cause.
At their tasting room, you can experience their range of elegant reds, refreshing whites, and unique blends. Whether you’re a fan of bold Shiraz, classic Chenin Blanc, or something a little more playful, the knowledgeable team will guide you through a tasting tailored to your palate.
It’s a relaxed, welcoming environment—perfect for lingering with a glass (or two) after exploring the Guild. The little ones can also be included in the tasting experience. Painted Wolf Wines created a fun kiddies tasting consisting of 2 juices and chocolate milk paired with marshmallows, gummy bears and cookies. The kiddies tasting is available for R60.
Painted Wolf Wines is closed on Monday and Tuesday. The operating hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 10:00 – 18:00 and on Sunday 10:00 – 17:00.
