Skurwekop Campsite in the Robertson Valley is a fantastic place for a fun holiday or weekend adventure with the entire family. Surrounded by mountains, vineyards, and right next to the Breede River, the scenery was absolutely stunning, and the relaxed atmosphere made it easy to unwind. The river was just a stone’s throw from our site, providing some peaceful moments by and on the water. There’s also a small tuck shop, which opens twice a day, where you can buy essentials and rent kayaks for the day. We also saw many people enjoying fishing, which is perfect since several campsites are located right next to the river.
The kids had a blast playing on the jungle gym, cooling off, and learning to swim in one of the two pools. The campsite’s shaded stands were another huge plus, especially in Robertson’s summer heat.
We stayed for a couple of nights and had everything we needed: steel braais at each site (perfect for our evening fires), electricity points, shared water taps, and plenty of space to set up our tent. It’s also perfectly situated for exploring the beautiful Robertson Wine Route, making it an ideal base for both nature and wine lovers.
The warm welcome from Yolandé, Annette, Nico, and the team made our stay even more enjoyable. From the stunning surroundings to the kid-friendly amenities, Skurwekop was just the break we needed during the school holidays. We’re already planning to come back with friends!
