Just a quick 90 minute drive from Cape Town, you’ll find Thali Thali Game Lodge — a peaceful West Coast getaway that’s all about wide-open spaces, friendly vibes, and plenty of wildlife. It’s the kind of place where you can kick off your shoes, spot giraffes on a game drive, and end the day with a braai under the stars. The venue is inviting day visitors to explore the farm and also hosts overnight guests in their cabins and glamping tents.
Wildlife & Game Drives
You don’t need to drive for hours to see animals here. On the daily game drives (at 10am and 3:30pm), you might spot giraffe, kudu, eland, springbok, buffalo, ostrich, and zebras. There’s loads of birdlife too, so don’t forget your binoculars if you’re into that. You won’t be able to spot lions, elephants or leopards. Those animals don’t live on the farm.
The guides are super friendly and happy to share stories about the animals and the plants you see along the way. You can’t self-drive through the reserve, but it’s way more relaxing to sit back while someone else handles the bumpy bits. Each drive takes about 90 minutes and needs to be pre-booked. Cost: R300 pp for Adults | R150 pp for children (5-12 years) | Free Under 5 years.
Accommodation Options & Rates
Thali Thali has space for around 30 guests, so it never feels crowded. You can choose between:
- Self-Catering Chalets: Comfy little cottages with a kitchen, living area, bathroom, and a braai spot — perfect for families or small groups.
- Glamping Tents: These are ideal if you want the camping feel without giving up your morning shower. Each tent has a proper bed, en-suite bathroom, kitchenette, and outdoor braai area. You’ll still hear the crickets and the night sounds — just with way more comfort.
- The Farmhouse (“Ouma se Huis”): A bigger, charming old farmhouse that’s great for groups or extended families. It’s got several bedrooms, a fireplace, and that real “farm weekend away” feeling.
