The Hollow Tree Restaurant / Bellville

The Hollow Tree is a cozy restaurant and tavern in the Southern suburbs with authentic food, a cute little play area for children and a relaxed atmosphere. You can choose to be seated in the generous outside seating area overlooking the playground or dine inside on colder days.

In the outside area, the kids will find a cute little playground with a colourful jungle gym, monkey bars, swings and a slide as well as rocking horses. While the children enjoy their play time, you can browse through the generous menu where you will find anything from breakfast (served daily between 9am and 11.30am), lunch and dinner. If you enjoy a little get-together with family and friends, you could also join The Hollow Tree on a Tuesday evening where they host regular quiz nights starting at 7pm.

Your fur friends are welcome, too! As long as they behave, of course.

Our Experience

We went to the Hollow Tree on a chilly fall afternoon and sat outside underneath the tent with a heater right next to us. So it was still cozy and we could watch the kids from a safe distance while they were playing at the playground. We enjoyed a hearty (German inspired) meal and the kids loved their kiddies options. Since our son is vegetarian, they made him scrambled eggs on toast although breakfast time has passed already. We appreciated this option and all of us were pretty happy. The prices on the menu are super affordable and you get a 100% value for your money.
