Viljoensdrift is a family-owned winery with a rich heritage dating back to 1818, when their French Huguenot ancestors first planted vines in the region. Today, brothers Fred and Manie Viljoen continue this proud tradition, producing award-winning wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Robertson Wine Valley. Viljoensdrift also offers a unique river cruise experience along the Breede River that combines natural beauty with exceptional wine and culinary delights.
The River Cruise Experience
Guests can hop on a 50 minute flat-bottomed boat and enjoy a fun boat trip down the Breede River while sipping a glass of Viljoensdrift’s finest wine or munching away a picnic basket. The cruise is suitable for kids and adults of all ages. It’s R120 for adults and R50 for children under the age of 12. Please note that the boat has a limited amount of five life vests for kids onboard. The boat departs daily at various times depending on reservations. Thereafter there will be trips hourly depending on bookings. Advanced bookings essential. Check-in should take place 60 minutes prior to departure.

Create Your Own Picnic
For a special experience, guests have the opportunity to curate a personalised picnic basket from Viljoensdrift’s deli. With a selection of cheeses, cold meats, and freshly baked breads, guests can assemble a gourmet meal to enjoy either on board or along the scenic riverbanks. Please note that it is not allowed to bring along your own food or drinks.
For those preferring a sit-down meal, the on-site restaurant offers freshly prepared dishes, including seafood, pizzas, burgers, and options for children.
