During summer (September to April), Waterworld in Strand opens its doors for people of all ages to have some massive fun on the water slides or at the play areas on land. If your kids love to play in the water, this is the perfect spot for them! The water park is located directly at the beachfront, but it’s nicely protected from the wind and you’ll find plenty of grassy areas to sit down, relax and even have a picnic.
They also have benches with umbrellas if you prefer that seating option. And of course, toilets and changing rooms are available, too!
Now, let’s dive right into the many attractions that await the swimmers. First of all, some of the pools have solar-heated water which is especially nice for the younger children and those who are a bit sensitive when it comes to cold water (like me!).
Most water slides are built for children starting at the age of 3 years like the Supertube (Age 3+), the Speed Slide (Age 3+), the Mini Slide (Age 3-10) and the Pool (Age 3+). However, the little ones can have some splash fun too in the designated Double Kiddies Pool (Age 0-6) or the Kiddies Double Speed Slide (Age 1-6).
There are also lots of amazing play areas on land in case the kids need a little break from the water. They have jungle gyms, climbing nets, slides, trampolines, an adventure play area and mini action sport courses.
When you’re getting hungry, you and the kids can take a small bite and cool drink at the Waterworld Cafe. They serve a small variety of hot food including hot dogs, toasties or food combos with chips. They also cater ice cream and yummy sweet treats (lollipops, slushies, crisps, chocolate) for the kiddies. You can find an overview of their menu here: MENU
General Information
- They don’t have any designated parking spaces at Waterworld. You must make use of the municipal parking area at the beachfront.
- Animals are not allowed at the park and your furry friends need to stay at home during your visit.
- Fireworks, glass bottles, ceramics, weapons, alcohol, music and entertainment are prohibited.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times
- Life jackets are available for use
- Lifeguards are on duty at all times
- First-aid-trained person on premises
Kiddies Birthday Parties
Set up a special birthday party at Waterworld for R110 per child for 2 hours of fun! You need a minimum of 10 water-sliders (or pay a minimum fee of R1,100 for 2 hours). Your party tables are reserved in the undercover area and you’re welcome to come in 30 minutes early to prepare the party set up.
You are allowed to bring in your own decoration, paper plates and cups, the birthday cake, party packs, eats and cool drinks. Music and special entertainment (such as face painting), breakable things and alcohol are not allowed.
Non-riders and spectators must pay a fee of R25 per person to join the party. The parents and grandparents of the birthday child have free entry.
On weekends, school and public holidays you can choose from 3 different party time slots:

- 12:30 – 14:30
- 15:30 – 17:30
