down to EARTH Market / Constantia

This is a cute little market with lots of fresh food, beautiful crafts and plenty of food stalls to choose from. The down to EARTH Market is taking place every Wednesday and Saturday and you can bring along the entire family for a relaxed atmosphere and some good vibes.

There are a variety of food vendors who prepare fresh and yummy food, you get your sweet treats or you can do your shopping for the week with fresh fruits and vegetables.

The bar with wine, craft beer and many other drinks is housed inside the main house and you have to cross a little bridge in order to get to the drinks. Inside, you’ll also find the bathrooms and a pool table which is nice for the older kids or the playful adults.

On the weekend, they often set up a little kiddies area with a jumping castle and tiny tables where they can get creative. There is also a small jungle gym and they can visit cute donkeys.

Otherwise, the children will find a lot of other opportunities to play nicely while you can sit down at a table and enjoy a drink or two and listening to some fabulous live music from local artists.

On Saturdays, they sometimes also set up a flea market on the other side of the market venue. There is a big, green lawn where people sell some wonderful, pre-loved items. It’s really worth to check it out.

When you arrive by car, you can conveniently park inside the venue where a park guard is watching over your car. Otherwise, there is also plenty of parking space outside this secure neighbourhood.

Please note: You can bring along your dogs on a leash when they are well-behaved and friendly.

Our Experience

We love this market especially on a Wednesday evening after work. You can listen to great live music, enjoy a drink and the kids keep themselves busy by climbing the surrounding trees. It’s a small market, so you don’t get this over-crowded place and it’s a really family-like environment with friendly people and a lot of good vibes!
