La Pineta Restaurant (Forest 44) / Stellenbosch

Nestled amidst the lush greenery of Forest 44, you will find La Pineta Restaurant which is a true gem for families – whether it’s being locals or visitors. As you step into La Pineta, you’re enveloped by a sense of tranquility that instantly transports you away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The restaurant’s rustic charm, coupled with its picturesque surroundings, creates an inviting atmosphere that beckons guests to unwind and savor the moment. Whether you’re dining al fresco on the spacious terrace or cozying up indoors by the fireplace, every corner of La Pineta exudes warmth and hospitality.

When you step out onto the open terrace behind the main restaurant, you’ll find pine trees reaching into the sky and an absolutely amazing play area for the children. With Table Mountain in the backdrop, this is a beautiful family restaurant with a lot on offer.

While you can sit down and relax with a glass of wine and browse through their menu, the children can go off by themselves to explore the huge play area situated on a wide open lawn. They will find everything from a jungle gym, swings and slides, a sandpit, climbing wall and lots of space to play games and run around. The size of the play area is truly enormous and rarely found in other restaurants.

The restaurant is open 7 days a week and offers breakfast from 09:00 – 11:00 as well as an a la carte menu until 22:00. You can take a look at their menus here: BREAKFAST & A LA CARTE. In case you would like a special dining experience, you can also go for one of their SET MENUS. Of course, they also offer a special menu for the kids to cater for the little taste buds.

Our Experience

We stopped by La Pineta Restaurant on a super hot day and were very excited to see the massive play area which we didn’t expect. Everything was nicely shaded by the high pine trees and you immediately felt a sense of calm and relaxation. The surroundings are beautiful and the children enjoyed the play area a lot! They were running around and having lots of fun while waiting for their ice cream treat. We didn’t have a chance to grab something to eat, but we definitely want to go back and enjoy a lovely lunch or dinner with them very soon.
