The Club House at Claremont Cricket Club / Constantia

Did you know that the Claremont Cricket Club is the third oldest cricket club in South Africa dating back to 1867? Beyond that, it’s also an iconic landmark in Constantia which offers a picturesque backdrop for a family-friendly dining experience, boasting stunning views of Table Mountain set against the backdrop of cricket fields. The Clubhouse utilises this stunning and convenient setting to provide a relaxed atmosphere paired with excellent service, making it the ideal spot for a fun get-together with family and friends.

For sports enthusiasts, The Clubhouse offers the perfect setting to catch up on games with friends, with TV screens broadcasting live action and the opportunity to immerse oneself in cricket matches played on the adjacent fields. The menu is a delightful mix of seasonal ingredients and flavors, offering a variety of wholesome choices to suit every palate.

During the cooler winter months, guests can cozy up by the indoor fireplace and savor hearty options such as delicious chicken pie, hearty lamb shank, lamb Ragu, or the signature Clubhouse burger. As the weather warms up, dining al fresco on the wooden deck allows patrons to soak in the sunshine and breathtaking scenery while enjoying the lighter, fresh summer menu offerings.

Families are warmly welcomed at The Clubhouse, where children can be entertained in a supervised play area, allowing parents to unwind and savour their meal. From fish and chips to burgers, pizzas, and spaghetti & meatballs, the special kids’ menu offers a variety of favourites, topped off with delightful treats like Mini Magnums or King Cones. The play area is equipped with a jungle gym, swings and lots of lawn space to run around and play ball games.

Highlight: From Wednesday to Thursday between 4pm and 7pm, children under the age of 12 receive a free kiddies meal when the accompanying adult orders a meal to the value of R95 or up. Important: only one child per adult eats for free.

Our Experience

The inside seating area has a super cozy atmosphere with the food-fired fire place and the comfortable couches and wooden interior. The meals were absolutely delicious and you can really enjoy fantastic food from the extensive menu and a very big selection off the kiddies menu. The highlight is the free meals for children under the age of 12 on selected days of the week which is an extra bonus if you’d like to go out dining with the kids.
